Pedodontics
When we teach children to take care of their teeth from an early age, we give them the chance to have a healthy, beautifully aligned, and confident smile for the rest of their lives.

What is pedodontics?
Pedodontics is the branch of dentistry that deals with the prevention and treatment of dental diseases in infants, children and adolescents up to 18 years old.
A pedodontist goes through additional training that teaches them how to treat and communicate with children according to their physical and mental development.
Pedodontics includes specialized treatments such as dental sealing and fluoride treatments, as well as universal procedures, such as endodontics and odontotherapy.
When should the first visit to the pedodontist be?
It is recommended that parents take their children to the dental clinic right when the first tooth erupts, which happens around the age of 6 months. At this first consultation, the doctor will check the baby’s teeth and have a discussion with the parent about the correct dental hygiene measures for infants.
Furthermore, the little one can come to regular medical check-ups every 6 months to get used to the dental office in a relaxed way, free of discomfort or trauma.
If the first visit to the pedodontist is postponed until a cavity occurs, the child will associate the dental clinic with pain and thus may get an unfounded fear of the dentist.
